Meet The Team

Rachael Longson

Hi I am Rachael from 4 Paws Canine Massage and I am a qualified Canine Myofunctional Therapist.

I have a Diploma in Canine Myofunctional Therapy, I studied at the National College of Traditional Medicine which is based in Australia.

For 10 years I worked with the lovely team at Remuera Vets in Client Services, I loved working there and the interaction with pets and their owners.

I have also had experience volunteering at the SPCA in Auckland.  I have had a lot of involvement with rescuing and rehoming many animals through our Veterinary Clinic over the last 9 years.

I am very excited to have joined the St John Pet Therapy programme as their Central Auckland Dog Assessor, this is an incredible organisation to work with, the dogs and owners are special volunteers who visit hospitals, schools, age care facilities and more, the work they do and the time they give is helping and giving happiness to so many people.

I have always loved animals and my passion is being able to help them, I was forever rescuing many different things growing up and now I am lucky enough to have a large household of pets of my own.

I specialise in remedial, relaxation, sports, behavioural and palliative care massage. I believe that with the many benefits of Canine Myofunctional Therapy I can help your dog to live a more healthy and pain free life.

Indie Longson (Office Manager)

Indie our little pocket rocket, rescued as a puppy from under a house in Auckland. She is eager to work and ready to please, she was very lucky to have Shelby showing her the ropes of running a business, family and the cats to the same high standard that he did for the first 2 years of her life. Indie has her work cut out for her but she is keen to please. Indie also loves a massage, especially since she had a bad experience with a Bike in her younger years!!

Obi Longson (intern)

Our newest addition to the team at just 14 months of age, Obi is one big goofy bundle of fun. Indie is trying to teach him the ropes, sometimes he is a bit distracted as chew toys are much for fun, than actual work and discipline. Obi’s work ethic is…..well he only works for treats.

in Memory of Shelby Longson

At the wonderful age of 14 Shelby left us, he left behind a big sprinkling of golden love, incredible memories and the odd dog hair still stuck to various items of furniture. He was the “Best Dog” ever and so many people loved him. He had the sweetest nature, kind soul, best forward rolls, wagging happy tail and those eyes were soft buttery toffees, that melted your heart. He was somewhat of a local superstar, as well as the poster boy for 4 Paws Canine Massage. Shelbs you will be forever missed and loved and we are so grateful that you picked our family to be part of. Love you always.
